Lipid-Based Formulations Containing Labrafil M2125-CS: A Deep Investigation on Nanosystem Stability

Labrafil M2125-CS is a non-ionic surfactant component widely used for improving the solubilization of poor water-soluble drugs and as lipid-based nanosystem formulation. The aim this research work was to evaluate in depth stability nanosystems when exposed at several experimental conditions, such temperature- pH-variations, during specific storage process—lyophilization. Dynamic light scattering main analysis carried out investigating eventual physico-chemical variations properties after different phases. We demonstrated that many prepared formulations were able maintain almost unchanged mean size polydispersity index values, resisting acid basic pH or high low temperature, well freeze-drying process. Finally, results showed there are no univocal conditions suitable all formulation types, but each sample requires customized conditions.
